This engraved, stainless steel ruler draws upon the historical tradition of using different body parts to measure length. Based upon the artists’ own measurements, 27 lengths are presented to create an alternate system of measurement. While measurements begin as arbitrary values, it is in the process of becoming standardized and widely accepted that they gain legitimacy.
